Dealing with Social Anxiety and Overcoming it

Social Anxiety is a problem that a lot of people deal with. At times, it has to do with being around strangers while others may even feel it around people that they know.

I actually followed a guy named Aaron Doughty who talked about overcoming social anxiety and what he suggested a frame technique that can actually solve the problem.

This was something that resonated with me on a deep level too. It is about understanding our frame within the environment. So, the key is to control what is happening on the inside rather than trying to control the outside.

It is about keeping a strong frame and realizing that we are the main character in our life and so we are the main character in the setting. It’s not about being egotistical or arrogant but realizing that we have to maintain our frame rather than trying to fit in other people’s frame.

We should not try to impress or leave an impression but rather simply express ourselves. Another aspect is self amusement and having fun. We must do anything that feels like fun for us without genuinely caring what other people think.

Now, it does not mean that we can do something that can affect others in a negative way but realizing that we must do what we want and what makes us feel good provided it is not affecting others in a bad way.

The key is having a strong frame and viewing other people as part of our frame rather than us being a part of their frame and doing what makes us feel good. After all, we are there to enjoy and relax and not sabotage our mental health in the social gathering.
