Justin Timberlake released ‘Cry Me A River’ on 25th November 2002 featuring Timberlake and Britney Spear’s look alike.

Song Meaning and Review

The song is clearly about Justin blaming an ex of his for cheating on him. The ex is apparently Britney Spears.

So, Justin and Britney were in a relationship during the early 2000s. Allegedly, Britney cheated on Justin and Justin was mad about it. Now, everyone has their opinions on the story. Some people even claim that Justin also cheated on her multiple times but not many people know about it as it was not made so public.

Nevertheless, Justin was salty about it and called up Timbaland to make a revenge/diss video on Britney Spears. They both came up in a Porsche parked it outside in the rain for Justin to make his video in her compound. It seemed like Justin was having the time of his life blaming Britney about his broken heart.

Timbaland remained seated in the car waiting for Justin to sneak around her house. He even called another model, made out with her and released a video tape for Britney(played by her lookalike in the video) to see.

Personally, from a musical standpoint the song sounds good. Justin has 2 major hits: Cry Me A River and What Goes Around Comes Back Around both songs based on pretty much the same theme.
