A Touch of Class also known by their abbreviated name ATC was a musical group that was active from 1999 to 2004.

The group was based in Germany all though their members were all from different countries. The band consisted of Joseph “Joey” Murray from New Zealand, Sarah Egglestone from Australia, Livio Salvi from Italy, and Tracey Elizabeth Packham from the United Kingdom.

The four of them met together during the production of stage musical called ‘Cats’ and became close friends. They later felt that they had the talent to produce a dance group and that is what they did.

Their song ‘Around the World’ was actually one of my favorite songs as a kid. I did not know about the band and had forgotten about the song but years later when I heard it in a playlist on youtube I was reminded of it.

What stands out about the group is the catchy tunes that their songs are based on. I really like the melody and rhythm they have in their music. ‘Around the world’ is their best song in my opinion and it is their most popular song. It was their first single which was a huge hit and attracted the spotlight on to the group.

The group was active for a very short period of time so they did not produce more songs and that is one reason why the group is not that famous.

Reportedly, all 4 members remain friends.

Nowadays Sarah is running her Pilates studio in Australia, Pure Pilates. Tracey is working in London as a carer, and Joseph and I are also based in London and they perform together with a jazz/swing/pop trio called Demodé. Joe also has a public speaking business, and I am a movement director and photographer.
