Well, for some reason I wanted to talk about Kesha aka Ke$ha. Kesha was among the few artists who rose to fame nearly overnight and disappeared all of a sudden almost as soon as she became famous.
Its crazy how one can be so relevant at one time and loose their importance the next moment. Kesha was enjoying huge success during her time from 2009-2013. Her songs were everywhere on VH1, YouTube recommendations, on friend’s I-Pods to name a few.
Music need not be serious or have deep messages and I think Kesha knew that better than anyone. Her songs were simple based on funny concepts and she made her mark regardless.
I expected her stardom to last much more than it did. It was strange how abruptly she left the music scene. Given her circumstances though, it didn’t come as a surprise.
Kesha’s story was far from a pleasant one. In October 2014, Kesha sued Dr. Luke of sexual harassments and battery against her. The assault had been carrying on since almost 10 years of working together.
She went quiet during the time period having little to no activity either in real life or on social media platforms.
On 22 June 2023, Kesha and Dr. Luke released a joint statement that they had reached a settlement. Overall, the situation between her and Luke was bizarre to say the least.
As of now, she still produces music regularly and uploads them on YouTube.
