NSYNC was a popular American boy band that was prominent during the 1990s to the early 2000s. The band consisted of Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Chris Kirkpatrick, Joey Fatone and Lance Bass. They have enjoyed huge success commercially and also in terms of winning awards. They were nominated for Grammys 8 times but never got one. However they won 3 American Music Awards, 5 Billboard Music Awards and 7 MTV Music Video Awards.
Story: Formation, Disbandment and Current Activites?
The band was formed by Chris Kirkpatrick in 1995. Lou Pearlman met Chris through a mutual acquaintance in 1995. Lou agreed to fund Chris after he was impressed by the latter’s talent and asked him if he could form a boy band.
Chris eventually spoke to Justin who was part of the Mickey Mouse Club which ended in1994. JC Chasez and Timberlake were both part of the Mickey Mouse Club and were working on music production together at the time.
Chris, Justin and JC got together and searched Orlando in search of a baritone and recruited Joey Fatone who had known Chris earlier from their time working together at Universal Studios Florida. The group recruited Jason Galasso as their bass singer after several auditions and Jason later dropped out of the band. Justin later called his vocal coach in need of a bass singer who suggested Lance Bass who was 16 years old at the time.
The group went on a hiatus in 2002 and ended up total disbanding as they never recorded any new records after that. The group does make appearances once a while on talk shows like the one with Ellen and they even performed together in MTV Music Video Awards 2003.
Personally, I like NSYNC’s music. They sang really good songs with my favorite among them being Bye Bye Bye and Its Gonna Be Me.
